Requesting an appointment

You can request an appointment with a doctor or other healthcare professional online (Monday to Friday).

This form is for medical problems only and currently opens 7am-12pm and 1pm-4pm. These times are under constant review and are subject to on the day demand.

If the form is closed, and you have an urgent medical problem, then please phone the practice on 0161 881 4545 or visit the surgery and speak with one of our medical administrators.

For all administrative queries, please complete our Contact the Practice Form.

For all prescriptions, please use the NHS App or complete our Prescriptions Form.

We will respond to requests within 1 day during opening times.

When you get in touch, we’ll ask what you need help with.

We will use your answers to choose the most suitable doctor, nurse or health professional to help you.

Nurse or healthcare assistant appointments

Please only request an appointment with the Nurses or Health Care Assistants if you have received a text from the surgery asking you to do so.

We will respond to requests within 1 day during opening times.

You can also:

  • phone us on 0161 881 4545
  • visit the surgery and speak with a receptionist
  • use your NHS account (through the NHS website or NHS App) or Patient Access to book an appointment, screening test or vaccination

When you get in touch, we’ll ask what you need help with.

We will use your answers to choose the most suitable doctor, nurse or health professional to help you.

Your appointment

When you contact us the clinical team will decide how best to deal with your problem. This might be:

  • a response by email with advice or signposting to local services
  • a same-day phone call from the Urgent Care Team (Advanced Nurse Practitioners and Paramedics)
  • a same-day phone or face to face appointment with one of the doctors
  • a routine phone or face to face appointment with one of the doctors

Appointments by phone, video call or by text or email can be more flexible and often means you get help sooner.

Cancelling or changing an appointment

To cancel your appointment:

If you need help when we are closed

If you need medical help now, use NHS 111 online or call 111.

NHS 111 online is for people aged 5 and over. Call 111 if you need help for a child under 5.

Call 999 in a medical or mental health emergency. This is when someone is seriously ill or injured and their life is at risk.

If you need help with your appointment

Please tell us:

  • if there’s a specific doctor, nurse or other health professional you would prefer to respond
  • if you would prefer to consult with the doctor or nurse by phone, face-to-face, by video call or by text or email
  • if you need an interpreter
  • if you have any other access or communication needs

Home visits

If you are housebound and need an appointment, we will do a home visit. We will phone you first to understand what you need.

To request a home visit, it’s helpful if you phone the surgery as soon after 8am as possible.
